Enchant at the Avalon

Not much happening studio-wise last weekend. Except for a bit of tidying up and such. I finally got around to burning a bunch of DVDs of my iTunes music library… nine of them, in fact. I burned a few coasters in the process, only that was before I figured out that my little mac mini might have a problem burning discs reliably if the data is on an external firewire drive (which, of course, is the case with most of the files I’ll need to archive) so I’ll just have to keep that in mind.

And from the world of rock and roll… I made it out to the Avalon last Saturday to catch my old friends Enchant in their first bay area appearance in three years. I’ve known the Enchant guys for many many moons now (I actually toured Europe with them back in 1998, filling in on bass guitar in the absence of Ed, their regular bassist) so it was great to meet up with them again. Paul (their original drummer who departed the lineup a few years ago) was there too, so it was great to hang with him as well. Highlight of the night was the ending section of “Gavel Hand”.. one of my favorite Enchant tunes they threw in as part of a medley. Great stuff.
