Turning It Around: Or, the Pig-Robot

This nice little chap is what came off the drawing board late this evening… inspired by some reference photos I took about ten years ago, at least. Never got around to doing anything with them… but I came across them as I was shuffling things around the studio. So there’s the pig robot… we’ll see where he goes.
Nice to have just a bit of breathing room after the hectic weeks that were all things AVITE. Seems most of my free time now has been spent importing even more of my CDs into iTunes and dumping them to my new iPod. File this under “duh” but I quite like having my entire CD collection handy, all playlisted out with my own odd little groupings… Its like having my own private little radio station that plays only the stuff that I like. Guess that’s the point, eh?
Speaking of eh. Check out Toronto-based artist Bobby Chiu’s digital painting tutorial. Guess it’s not so much a “tutorial” as it is a screen capture movie of him painting up a sketch while sharing his thoughts on art, work, and life. Excellent stuff, nonetheless…
So that’s inspired me a bit… trying to get my head out of this web-tinkering and do some real artwork. Hence the pig-robot. More to come, I hope.

Welcome. This is the Botched Blog, the personal web site and hideous time-sink for Gustaf Fjelstrom (that would be me). Part proving ground and rickety digital soapbox, part high tech scrapbook of pixelated narcissism, this site will serve merely to document the journey… lest I forget.
