Some Early Work

Recently, my dad got the family together to clean out and downsize the ‘ole storage space. Get rid of what nobody wanted, try to divy up the stuff people did want… trying not to go crazy in the process. Actually, it was quite fun. We came across many an odd item, perserved for whatever reasons… I’m sure there were some at the time. Amongst the findings: My early work.

“Man with Straight Red Hair - Doing the Spitz (Apparently)” December 1975.  (age 4). Note the angst conveyed in the figure’s mouth.

“Large Purple-Headed Man with Wings (Or Something)“ December 1975, again, age 4.

“Little Red Pill-Shaped Man Afraid” December 1975… still age 4. Wow… three drawings in December 1975! Must have been a good year.

“Eugene the Brave”(By Gus, in case you missed it). July 12th, 1979 - 7 and 1/2 years old. By the looks of it, Eugene was not only brave, but very well-off for a tree-monkey with a prehensile tail. I spy a living area with Chanalier… (make that TWO of ‘em!) Both a staircase and a ladder to his tree-house… and a clothesline with clothes hanging to dry. Looks like some sort of green overalls, as well. Hmm… Brave, comfortable, AND a snappy dresser.
