Duties and Trappings

Blazingly hot these days: summer has kicked into full swing. The purchase of a nifty little Sears special air-conditioning unit for my studio widow cam just in time. We’ve only been in this house a year now, and I didn’t get this studio put together until just before last winter… Now there’s much to be recorded, much to be written, much to be drawn.  Can’t let a little summer’s heat get in the way, eh? (Oh yeah, like I’ve been a whirlwind of productivity lately anyway).

Things on the Design Reactor front have been going absolutely crazy. In addition to super-top-secret-Houston-travelling-requiring project, I got suckered in to kicking out 5 minutes worth of After Effects animation for yet another online executive presentation. (The fearless may click here to behold). As usual, this one came down to the wire… changes being made right up until the last possible moment… and then some beyond. And while on things DR related… I’ve shed the duties and trappings of “Senior Art Director” behind… and have traded up to the challenges that face the “Associate Creative Director”. And so it continues.

In other matters, if you’re using Google Calendar on a MAC… and you want to trick yourself into thinking its a stand-alone application… go and check out Gcal. Spiffy-neato.

  1. Hey gus, nice work on the AMD piece. Are the matrix-like server alley, and the silicon card 3D, or did you manage to do that from film?

Also, from your other post, “Eugene the Brave” is quite stylin’

  2. Hi Aaron! Thanks! We worked with a 3D artist on the matrix-like server alley… that was fun. I should say Jason had even more fun tracking and stabilizing that guy in the camera-move at the begining!
