Divided

Dang. Its almost next weekend, and I haven’t yet report on the transpirings of last weekend! Christine to a little trip to Chicago, so I took Friday and Monday off work to take advantage of some “studio time”. I figured I’d be able to get back into the creative swing of things—maybe even finishing a recording or a painting or something. So much for that plan. Turns out I spent most the weekend thinking about exactly the thing I wasn’t doing at the time. When I was banging my head against the keyboard and fumbling around on my bass, I was constantly mulling over what I could be scribbling at the drawing table not four feet behind me. Conversely,  the I was sitting at my drawing table, staring angrily at the blank piece of paper, I was trying to figure out what I could be recording. Comical, to say the least. And of course, once I got it in my head that I needed to build some bookcases for the studio… then it was all over. so much for the plan, eh?
